The 24 Tennessee Colleges of Applied Technology (TCATs) are the state’s premier provider of workforce development strategies. The network offers more than 70 occupational programs to help job seekers train for a career and help businesses build a skilled workforce. Local industry demand determines the programs each campus offers. Instructors are experienced in the occupation they teach and are expected to maintain occupational certifications or licenses.
Students at TCATs are successful: 81% of TCAT students complete their programs and 86% find a job in their field of study.

Financial aid programs are available for you to attend a TCAT.
Wilder-Naifeh Technical Skills Grant: Any Tennessee citizen aged 18 or older who wants to attend a TCAT is eligible for up to $2,000 from the Wilder-Naifeh Technical Skills Grant funded by the Tennessee Education Lottery Scholarship (TELS) program. The Wilder- Naifeh grants do not require a high school diploma, a minimum grade point average, or taking the ACT or SAT college entrance tests. However, students must meet program admission requirements as either full or part-time students. TN Reconnect TCAT Grant: The TN Reconnect TCAT Grant is a “last dollar” scholarship for any adult student age 25 or older that attends a TCAT. This means that once your federal and state financial aid has been applied, the TCAT Reconnect Grant picks up any of the remaining tuition costs.
